American Abyss Launches Soon...
Hello Dear Reader,
In just a couple days, the Kickstarter for our newest project, "American Abyss" launches. I'm not going to lie - I'm incredibly nervous about this.
If we're successfully funded, this would be one of my biggest projects to date, boasting 24 podcast episodes, 24 multi-media art pieces, 2 zines, and tons of physical mementos.
This is a huge project, which is why I've brought on some of my (and your) favorite artists, like Trevor Henderson (Siren Head, Cartoon Cat), Eduardo Valdés-Hevia (Book of Bill, Home Safety Hotline), Trevor Roberts (Mystery Flesh Pit National Park), Harlan Guthrie (Malevolent), Ben Counter (Warhammer 40k), Nic Boone (Dead by Daylight), Leslè Kieu (Dust & Dread), Kayla Temshiv (Something's Amiss at Juniper's House), Hannah Schooner (Situationally Comedic Persons), and a ton of other people. It's basically the biggest artist summer camp I could make - and I've given all these folks a sandbox full of creepy monsters, hostile architecture, an active civil war, and an ephemeral anomaly to play with.
You can show your support by pre-saving our campaign on Kickstarter ahead of launch!
Set in Palmyra Michigan, a small town is emblazoned by a civil war as an extremist militia clashes with the Federal government. Amidst this conflict, a strange phenomenon known only as "The Flash" occurs. Before anyone can figure out exactly what happened, the whole city is quarantined and now 100,000 citizens are trapped within. With an ongoing battle on one side, and strange monsters from another world on the other - there is no safe harbor in Palmyra.
Our first 24 episodes will be split in into two collections. On the A Side, we follow Jack Feldman, a journalist trapped within the city trying to uncover the secret his husband died for. On the B Side, we see scattered found footage stories from across the city. And between podcast episodes, we'll be dropping multi-media art pieces made by all those incredibly talented people I mentioned above. Think video game collectibles: notes diary pages, audio logs, posters, signs, videos, etc. These "art-ifacts" are pieces lifted straight outta the Palmyra Exclusion Zone.
A-Side: Jack's Story
B-Side: Stories from the Zone

I'm not going to lie, this is an incredibly self-indulgent project. This is something I've dreamed of making for over half a decade, and after 3 years of pre-development, we're finally ready to share it with all of you! If you're a fan of Annihilation, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Welcome Home, Dark Souls lore videos, and/or ARG-lite experiences, this project was made for you.
In the coming weeks, I'll be sharing a lot of behind-the-scenes looks at this project, as well as a ton of information about the world from the fighting factions to the horrifying monsters we have in store. I've been blessed to work with such incredible people, and make art every day. I hope you'll join me on this next adventure too!
